The vertex remote is worth every penny. My home course is extremely hilly and I was tired of pushing a cart up hills, and the stress I was feeling on my back. For me, I needed a trolly that was easy to fold. I can manage to fold the vertex in 30 seconds, and it fits easily in my trunk with my clubs. I love the cruise control feature, and have it programmed to ride next to me as I walk. We tried out another brand, and the vertex was far more stable. My husband and friend now have a vertex as well. It's so easy to use, and the design is sleek!

As I write this review, I/we are 45 holes into our man/ cart golf relationship. I’m going to start with a couple negatives and then move to positives.
- Last year I purchased a new SunMountain 4.5 stand bag that works great as a carry or cart bag on my Bag Boy Quad! That said, my stand bag isn’t a good fit on the Vortx! The stand mechanism on the bag and the smallish base on the Vortx cart aren’t compatible. My solution, as I really want to like the Vortx, was to use a very small clamp to secure the base of the bag to the base of the cart. That, in combination with the well made top bungee strap has secured the two together well!
-My first experience on the golf course wasn’t good! I/we were making the trip to our starting hole in a shotgun start and unfortunately the Vortx lost its balance coming down a hill and resulted in a yard sale of items tumbling out including my $500 rangefinder and cart battery! All survived the crash with the battery suffering some road rash from the paved cart path.
- Negatives aside, I was now forced to look past the early mishap and hope the cart would redeem itself and work its way back into my good graces!? I believe it has!
- unfolding and folding is simple and impressive. The cart fits nicely in my car trunk with enough space for my bag and accessories.
- On the course, now that I understand that the cart has its limits on hilly terrain, I have enjoyed my new cart traveling the ups and downs and to and fro on the golf course.
-The remote control, as advertised, is easy to use and functions well whether near or far from the cart.
-The battery and remote are simple to charge and both interface with the cart well. The battery is easy the take out and reinstall. That said, I’m still puzzled why it dislodged when the cart tipped over. The remote has a secure perch on the handle area when it’s not in your hand.
-As the cart climbs steep hills, I make it a point to be close behind as it tips back on the wheelie bar. I’m trying to avoid another tip over incident. As a partial remedy for improved hill climbing, I have put a 10# dumbbell in the the lower zip pocket of my bag. It definitely helps the Vortx tip back less and track better up the inclines.
-The appearance of the Vortx is very nice, both in its design and black color.
-As I continue my evaluation of my new cart, I suspect that I’ll keep it and increase my confidence in it as we travel the golf fairways!?
-All that said, my first choice was the Q follow but the higher price dismayed me from that choice. I suspect that my hilly golf course would cause travel issues with the Q as I wouldn’t be watching it as we moved behind me!? That said, I recently noticed a price increase for the Stewart carts which makes any thought of returning the Vortx for a different model more unlikely.
-At this point, my Vortx review analysis is…..Great cart that has some limitations but in life….nothing is perfect! LOL
Easy to put together, solidly, built, and easy to maneuver. Scheduled to try it out on the course for the first time next week.
I went into this wondering if it could really be better than my X9, and after my first round I am viewing this as my best golf-related purchase ever. Smoother and more responsive than my X9, and the design makes getting it in and out of my truck much easier.
