Premium trolley manufacturer Stewart Golf won two awards at the Cotswold Life Engineering, Manufacturing & Innovation (EMI) Awards.
Whilst many might expect the business landscape in the picturesque Cotswolds to consist of cottage industries and rural endeavours, the EMI Awards featured businesses of all sizes and some very high-tech areas. Industries included rocket propulsion systems, artificial intelligence, aviation landing systems, cutting edge graphene innovation, space systems, voice biometrics & consumer electronics.
The team behind the revered X9 Follow trolley took the ‘Small Manufacturer of the Year’ award, for companies with up to 50 staff. Judges were looking for innovation, an excellent record of employee development and commitment to building a financially sustainable business. Stewart Golf’s record of innovation in all areas of the business including marketing, workplace culture and exports impressed the judges.
CEO Mark Stewart was presented with the ‘Outstanding Leadership Award’, for which judges were looking for bosses who had raised their own game for the benefit of the business. Mark recently completed a postgraduate diploma in business leadership, earning a distinction. Strategic thinking, ambition for their business, and a clear commitment to all of those working within the company were all recognised.
Mark said: “We’re obviously elated to be double winners, especially when the calibre of the other finalists is so high. As a relatively small team, every staff member has a real impact on the business and it’s their work that’s being rewarded tonight. I’m very proud of what we’re building at Stewart Golf and I’d like to thank the judges for recognising our efforts.”
Long term staff member Anne Partridge was a also a finalist in the ‘Employee of the Year’ category. Anne’s decade of service at Stewart Golf was recognised by judges, with her reliability, work ethic shining through.
Anne said, “It has been a pleasure working for Stewart Golf for over a decade; we have built a real family atmosphere and we look out for each other. I’m looking forward to the next ten years and can’t wait to see what they will bring for us.”
