I've played about 15 loops using the Stewart Q Follow..... love it. For me it has been a great success. The unit is built sturdy and doesn't tip over unless you drive it like a maniac. It tracks well on wet grass and handles most hills fine. On steep grades, it is wise to lightly hold the handles and help guide it, but the motor does the work making it an easy climb. So far the biggest problem I've found with the Q Follow is it doesn't keep my drives on the fairway and doesn't make putts either.....
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re delighted to hear the Q Follow has been such a success and that you’ve been impressed by its build quality, stability and performance across wet ground and hills. Unfortunately, we haven’t quite mastered the technology to keep every drive on the fairway or hole every putt just yet, but we’ll be sure to pass the suggestion on to our development team ha ha!
I bought a Q Follow in November of 2021. After more than 4-1/5 years and more than 400 rounds, I decided to buy a second unit as a spare. I have sent the first one in for service 2 times and it will be nice to have a backup for future service shipments. Additionally, I am hoping my wife will walk with me from time to time now that I have a second trolley. My original trolley has operated flawlessly, except when I wore out the bearing after the first 200+ rounds. When that happened, Stewart offered a very reasonably priced service which included freight both ways. On my first round with the new trolley, I noticed it would sometimes stop and disconnect from the handset when it hit a big bump. I reached out to Stewart. They asked for a video of the issue. I did notice a small delay in communication at that time, but I found out later some of the customer service folks had been on their annual holiday (it was July). Once they reviewed the video, they swapped the trolley for a new one. The new one works flawlessly. The Q Follow will tend to "run away" from you when operating remote on a steep downhill slope, but it is easily dealt with by keeping a hand on it when going down a steep hill. One of my golfing buddies has the Vertx model. Although that model does not follow, it does seem to handle steep downhill slopes much better, it has a longer range regarding the remote control, and it is less twitchy when operating in remote mode. If you prefer to use a remote, get the Vertx. If you want to mainly use the follow mode, get the Q Follow. I have 2, and I love them. The only small criticism I have is the mounting location for the sand bottle. When the bottle is full, it tends to make the trolley slightly more tippy on steep uphill climbs, requiring me to put a hand on the trolley when climbing a steep hill. Perhaps Stewart could create a way to mount the bottle low on the chassis rather than the back of the upright.
Thank you for taking the time to share your review, and for choosing a second Q Follow after more than 400 rounds with your original trolley. Your continued support means a great deal to us! We’re delighted to hear your first Q Follow has served you so reliably and that, once our team reviewed the issue with your new trolley, the replacement was arranged and is now performing flawlessly. Your comparison between the Q Follow and VERTX Remote is also very helpful. Each is designed around a different on-course experience, with the Q Follow offering hands-free Follow technology and the VERTX providing advanced remote control and Active Terrain Control. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the sand bottle mounting position and will pass this on to our product development team for consideration.
It was a very good machine however it doesn’t operate without a remote plus on extremely hilly courses it doesn’t have dynamic braking to slow a descent. Right now I am planning on replacing my Stewart Golf Trolley as it it sitting on my shelf until I replace the 350 dollar remote.
Thank you for sharing your review. We’re pleased to hear you have found the Q Follow to be a very good trolley, although we’re sorry that the remote replacement cost has left it out of use. We appreciate your comments regarding downhill control on particularly steep courses and will pass them on to our product development team.
I have less than 50 rounds on my Stewart Q Follow, and unfortunately, for a trolley that cost me over $3,000, it has been highly unreliable and, in my experience, not very durable.
So far, I've had to replace the upper assembly, lower bungee, battery, and stabilizer assembly—and the replacement parts are far from cheap. Customer service has also been extremely slow to respond, which only adds to the frustration.
The only positive thing I can say is how compact the unit is when folded. Other than that, I honestly wouldn't recommend this trolley to anyone based on my experience.
I also own an Axglo E5 Follow, which costs about half as much, and I haven't had a single issue with it. In my opinion, the Follow Me mode on the Axglo is also far superior to the Stewart Q.
At this point, it honestly feels like Stewart Golf's business model is more focused on selling replacement parts than building a durable, reliable product. That's extremely disappointing considering the price point.
With more competition entering the market every year, offering better durability and comparable—or better—features at a fraction of the cost, I really question how sustainable Stewart Golf's current approach is. If they don't improve the reliability of their products and their customer service, I don't see how they can continue to compete in the long run.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re very sorry to hear that your experience with your Q Follow and our customer service has not met the standards you expected from Stewart Golf. We understand how frustrating it must be to experience multiple issues with a premium product, and we appreciate you raising your concerns. Your comments regarding product durability, replacement part costs and response times will be passed on to the relevant teams as part of our ongoing product and service improvements.
So after long research & debate with my wallet since I already have an MGI zip navigator, I finally decided in investing with the Q follow.
1st expedited shipping was on point. Cart was delivered within 3 days. Just a bit of a hassle because they sent it in 2 separate packages ( 1 trolley , 1 for accessories: umbrella & golf ball holder) both of which was delivered on different days & needed signature. So I had to made adjustments to make sure that there is an adult to sign for it. The trolley bag had plenty of space to pack it in with.
I’m surprised that this basic accessories are not already included given it’s an expensive trolley.
The trolley is aesthetically pleasing & simple in design. Not much in the way of features : no lcd display for travel , battery life , etc..Weight was manageable with the carry handle. Unfolding & folding operations was easy.
Now the operation, as per instructions. Made sure that my golf bag has enough weight on it. Secured it onto the trolley & practiced on my driveway . Im surprised how twitchy it is with remote operation. I said to myself, perhaps it will be better on the course.
On the course, started with remote control function & it seems to do ok but still twitchy ( again just comparing it with the Zip). I was not impressed with stability on hills, It has tipped over 3 times on uphill & downhills which usually I have no issues with. The wheels would just spin unable to climb the hills. I live in Alaska & we just have mountain courses, hence the electric trolley. The follow function was a hit & miss. Trolley stopped following several times during my round. It was a bit disappointing. Reached out to customer service for technical advice. Call center called me back & emailed instructions on how to reset handset. Which I did . Cleaned the trolley, removed the wheels & I noticed that it was not engaged fully, so all this time on the course , I was operating it on a manual mode.I don’t recall reading to check that the wheels are engaged fully to the motor/axle. I got excited thinking that could be the source on my problems: hill climb, intermittent follow function.
2nd day on the course, with the wheels fully engaged, handset reset of I go. The first 3 holes, it functioned as it should, granted this course is a little bit flat to start off with. I was very elated! Then the hills started, up & down we go. Learned from the 1st round that I need to hold on to it to prevent it from tipping over, not too bad. Going down steep hills was not confidence inspiring. The trolley would gain speed down hill & you are trying to slow down a 50-60lbs cart down the hill. I wish it had a downhill assist, instead of just hitting stop button.
I had more intermittent follow mode failures. Following you initially then next thing you know it’s 15 -20 feet behind you. I was also informed by technician that there are things that interfere with Bluetooth connection such as buried utility lines, other Bluetooth devices such as phones & other electric carts.. In all seriousness this are all regarding golfing situations. .
I’m am really trying to fall in love with this trolley given all the reviews I have read & watched that it’s the benchmark & all for electric trolley, but so far it’s kind of a let down.
I have 30 days ,so I will continue to give it a try & hopefully I can live with the short comings of the Q follow. I know this is lengthy but I hope that this will give interested golfers an idea of what to expect
Thanks
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. It’s great to hear the shipping was quick, the trolley arrived safely, and that you’re happy with the overall design, folding process and portability of the Q Follow.
We’re sorry to hear your first few rounds haven’t quite matched the experience you were hoping for, especially after the research you put in before choosing the Q Follow. From what you’ve described, it’s good that the wheel engagement issue was identified, as that would certainly have affected performance on the course.
The Q Follow is designed to deliver the most natural hands-free walking experience, but on very steep or mountainous courses, some additional control may be needed, particularly downhill. Our VERTX Remote model may also be worth considering, as it features downhill braking through Active Terrain Control, which helps maintain smoother, more controlled movement across gradients. As you mentioned you’re still within your 30-day period, that could be an option to discuss with our Customer Care team if you feel the VERTX Remote may be better suited to the courses you play in Alaska.
We really appreciate your balanced feedback and hope the Q Follow continues to improve for you over the next few rounds.

FAQ'S
If you have questions about the 2025 Q Follow electric golf trolley and Stewart Golf, read on for our frequently asked questions.
Technical
How does the Follow system work?
+Mounted just inside each rear wheel, two red follow antennas work together to create two zones around the Q Follow; a neutral zone and an active zone.
When the handset is inside the neutral zone (approximately 1m from the golf cart), the Q Follow will remain stationary. As the handset enters the active zone (1-3m away), the Q Follow's electronics system will automatically & independently alter the speed of each rear motor to keep its pace. When the golfer (and therefore the handset) come to a stop, the Q Follow will continue until the handset is back inside the neutral zone when it will also stop. The effect is that of digital elastic band, which stretches and contracts as you walk.
Can I set walking speeds?
+Yes. You are able to program your own walking speeds in to the numbered buttons on the handset.
Can I use the Q Follow without the handset?
+The Q Follow can only be operated via the handset (unless the wheels are in freewheel).
Can I use my own bag or do I need a Stewart Golf one?
+The latest 2020 Stewart Golf StaffPro and SuperSport bags have a key in their bases that prevents any twist of the bag when in use, but any cart or tour bag can be used. Lightweight or stand bags are not recommended.
The Q Follow is optimised for use with golf bags weighing 14kg. Using a 'top heavy' stand bag reduces the load on the front wheels, which means the steering may react faster than intended, and a heavier bag will slow steering, increase battery consumption and wear on key components.
How heavy is the Q?
+The Q weighs 14.1kg (31lbs) + 2.5kg (6.6lbs) for the battery (18 hole).
What size is the Q when folded?
+The Q’s dimensions are as follows: H 21in 540mm / W 23.6in 600mm / D 12.6in 320mm.
How stable is the Q on a hilly course?
+The Q Follow has been designed with stability in mind, providing supreme natural balance. Coupled with the retractable stabiliser to the rear, the Q can navigate hilly courses with ease. The electric caddie may tip onto its rear stabiliser wheels, but if this happens don’t worry as this is what it is designed to do.
Will it run me over going downhill?
+When in Follow mode, the Q Follow has downhill braking, meaning it will always remain a safe distance behind you when going down hills. However, if the ground is wet, the cart may skid when braking downhill, so for this scenario we recommend using the Remote mode of operation when going downhill. If you are playing a shot when on a hill, we recommend parking your cart sideways to prevent the cart from gradually moving.
What is the distance range of the Q Follow?
+The Q Follow has a maximum range of 50m from the handset.
Battery
How long will the battery last?
+The Q Follow is supplied with a 384Wh battery that is capable of 36 holes on most golf courses.
Every Q Follow is supplied with a SmartPower battery, which connects to a free smartphone app. The app provides real time data on many aspects of the battery, but most importantly will tell you exactly how much capacity you have remaining. You will soon get to know how much you use on various courses and how consumption changes with conditions.
A hole of golf can be anything between 100 and 700 yards long, so is not a reliable unit of measurement, especially when you take the distance between green and tee in to account too. Terrain, ground condition, bag weight, and a number of other factors can make a big difference. Imagine running along a flat concrete road as opposed to up a steep sand dune & you'll get the idea.
The quality of the golf also affects how far you walk. A golfer shooting 65 will walk a lot less than a golfer shooting 110 and zig-zagging up the fairways! This scenario would also see the steering being used more, which also consumes more power.
How often do I need to charge my battery?
+We advise charging your battery after every round to ensure it has enough charge for your next round. The SmartPower battery can also be monitored via our Stewart Golf app, meaning you can always stay on top of your battery charge.
How often do I need to charge my handset?
+We advise charging your handset after every round to ensure it has enough charge to last a full round. Typically, one full charge should last 2-3 rounds of golf.
Do I have to remove the SmartPower battery to charge it?
+Yes. The connections are concealed on the underside of the battery, so are not exposed when in place.
What happens if the battery dies mid-round?
+If your battery or handset battery dies mid-round, you can place the rear wheels into freewheel mode, allowing you to push the cart for the rest of the way around the course.
When will I know that the battery is ready to use?
+The battery is fully charged when the green light on the charger is visible. Alternatively, you can check the SmartPower battery app on your phone to see the real-time state of charge.
Can I play more than 18/36 holes in a day?
+If you have the 36-hole battery, we guarantee you will be able to complete a minimum of 36 holes on a fully charged battery. It’s difficult to predict the length of a round because each course and player is different. After a few rounds and checking the app, you will get a good feel whether the Q will go far beyond the 36 on your course.
How long does the battery take to recharge?
+The length of time depends on how much charge the battery has left when you place it on charge. A full charge cycle takes approximately six hours.
Clean & Use
How do I clean the Q Follow?
+After your round, clear any grass, leaves, and dust from the Q Follow machine using a soft cloth/brush or compressed air. You can clean your Q Follow using standard furniture polish and a soft cloth.
Is the Q Follow trolley OK to use in the rain?
+Yes. The Q Follow golf trolley is designed for use in all conditions, including rain, appropriate for golf. The design of the Q Follow protects the major components from rain, so water ingress cannot occur during normal use. You should avoid any situation where moisture or water could reach the electronics or motors.
Delivery
How long does delivery take in the USA?
+Orders typically ship via UPS or FedEx within 1–2 business days of being placed. Delivery times depend on your location but usually range from 2–5 business days once shipped.

What is the Stewart Golf return policy?
+We offer a 30-day moneyback guarantee, meaning if you don't enjoy using your Q Follow, you can return it for a full refund inside this 30-day period.*
